How does your society dispose of its trash, garbage, refuse, waste?

Well, much of the human waste and other organic things are processed, sanitized and redistributed.
How about the other stuff?
Some people recycle aluminum, paper and some kinds of plastics. But mostly we just throw it on the ground in the back yard and let it disintegrate. Every once in a while we spread some dirt on it. When the mound gets too high, we cover it in dirt and put vent pipes into it to release the methane.
That sounds awful, like a stinking mess. How do you stand it?
Well, we found a solution. It’s not really in our back yard. Many of us get together and pay somebody to haul it off into somebody else’s back yard, so we don’t actually see it except for when we happen to drive by it.
